MINI-PROFILE: QUINCY JONES_A TRUE RENAISSANCE MAN
In my life so far, I’ve encountered only one person who effortlessly exudes self-confidence, seductiveness, calm coolness, unlimited curiosity, creativity, charm, wisdom, generosity, virtue, worldiness, compassion and inspiration; that person is Quincy Jones. His distinctive and jovial personality, amazing creative gifts, and clear sense of purpose have allowed him to achieve success in a variety of careers and embody different identities, as a music impresario, trumpter, conductor, record, film and television producer, musical arranger, film composer, magazine publisher, event producer, diplomat, social advocate, politician, trumpeter, writer .
WONDERFUL BOOK CELEBRATING OLDER PEOPLE WITH SOUL
ndrew Zuckerman has put together a beautifully designed book and video with some of our world’s most interesting minds; including Frank Ghery, Nelson Mandela, Ravi Shankar, Clint Eastwood and Henry Kissinger to mention just a couple. The video and book take out the background placing the people in a pure white setting, which was to take away any sort of outside presence, and give their words a more meaningful tone and the attention they deserve.http://www.wisdombook.org/

HARVARD ADVANCED LEADERSHIP PROGRAM FOR BOOMERS
Harvard is launching and directing the Advanced Leadership Initiative, a year-long pilot "third stage" educational program aimed at transforming experienced leaders into social entrepreneurs and philanthropists. Harvard's pilot program is the latest step in the flowering of the new "third stage" of university education. It's a growing phenomenon that has been emerging for several years, as the roughly 75 million baby boomers have begun to hit their late fifties and early sixties. The venture takes into account the convergence of a new set of global challenges and the growing population of older energetic leaders who have met goals through a lifetime of work and now have a yearning to serve.
The goal of the Advanced Leadership Fellowship is to prepare experienced leaders to transition from their primary income-earning years to community and public service for their next years of life. The Fellowship is designed to enhance and leverage the skills of already-accomplished leaders for maximum impact on significant social problems, including those that affect health and welfare, children and the environment.

ALEXANDER THE GREAT LOOKED FOR THE WATER OF LIFE

Central to Alexander’s quest for immortality is his pothos, first mentioned by Arrian (2nd century AD) and described there as an “almost religious longing” that dictated the course of his life. In Sura 18 in the Koran (and many other texts), Alexander searches for the Water of Life, akin to the Fountain of Youth, but the water looked forward to life, not backward to youth.
